GUIUAN HOSTS CHR ON HUMAN RIGHTS LAWS ORIENTATION

May 22, 2012. Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The Municipality of Guiuan recently hosted the orientation on Human Rights Laws conducted by the personnel from the Regional Office No. VIII of the Commission on Human Rights. The orientation is part of the program of the Commission to education and to inform the public about their rights as citizens of this country and as individuals.

“DALAGAN PARA HAN KAUSWAGAN” FUN RUN A HUGE SUCCESS

GUIUAN, EASTERN SAMAR. The “Dalagan Para han Kauswagan” Fun Run sponsored by Mayor Annaliza P. Gonzales-Kwan held on April 29, 2012 was a huge success. The 3KM Fun Run started at Brgy. Banahao in Guiuan had its finish line at the Town Plaza of Mercedes, Eastern Samar.  The Fun Run was participated in by different entities, as well as representatives of organizations in Guiuan. The group from Guiuan was joined by participants from the Town of Mercedes and was warmly welcomed at the Town Plaza by Mayor Rafael Macawile and Vice-Mayor Absalon Rediang along with the Hermana Mayor for the year’s Mercedes Town Fiesta Nema Quirante Macatugob.

UPGRADING OF GUIUAN WEATHER STATION IN FULL-SWING

GUIUAN, E. SAMAR. The upgrading of the Guiuan Weather Station is underway. The project, a grant of the Japanese Government involving other Weather Stations around the country has started and is expected to be completed in about 18 months. The project amounting to P308M is a grant from the Government of Japan to the Philippines through the Japan Weather Association under the auspices of the Japan Meteorological Agency.
