May 30, 2012. Department of Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala came to
Guiuan for a consultation meeting with the farm and fisherfolk at the BFAR
research facility. Sec. Alcala was impressed at how progressive the
municipality is and intends to visit again soon. Hopes have been raised for the
farm and fisherfolk as the Secretary expressed his plans in improving the
agriculture and aquaculture industry in the town.
